Becoming a Member

“That's how it is with us. There are many of us, but we each are part of the body of Christ, as well as part of one another.”  Romans 12:5 (CEV)

The Bible is very clear that involvement in and commitment to a local church is essential for Christians.

Hebrews 10:25 “And let us not neglect our meeting together…”

While the Bible doesn’t require membership of a church, the Biblical principle is that the church is a family.  As Christ is committed to the church: “…just as Christ loved the church….” (Ephesians 5:25), membership shows a commitment to identifying with Christ and the local church in the same way early followers of Christ did.  It is an important step in a person's spiritual growth as they become a committed family member.

Those considering membership at Central are invited to attend Discovery Class 101.  Participation in this six-session class is an important part of the process of becoming a member of Central and a more intentional disciple. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the class is the small group time that will give you the chance to get to know others better and to share your journey of faith.  Led by Central’s pastors and program staff, this class is offered three times a year:

Monday Evenings 7:00-8:15 pm                       April 21 – May 19, 2008
