Tell Me About It...
A tutoring program for middle school children is being offered free of charge at Central Lutheran Church.
This program is academically based but allows time for the students to relax, play, and snack before the hour and a half work session. At the close of the work time a meal will be available free of charge to the students.
The program is supervised and taught primarily by current and former educators.
Students will need to return the parent permission form to be able to participate in the tutoring program. You will also need to make arrangements for your child to go home at 6:00 PM. However, there are youth activities that are available on Wednesday evenings starting at 7:00 PM.
How it works...
The tutoring program is available on Wednesday afternoons strating at 3:00 PM. This will be a supervised time that the kids can play in the large gym area or in the youth room.
At 4:00 PM the tutoring session begins. Separate rooms will be designated for different subject areas.
The students will be meeting in small group or in one-on-one settings with the qulified tutors. If they have more than one arrea of concern they will be free to move to another room for that assistance.
At 5:30 PM the formal tutoring time will close and supper will be available in the Family Life Center.
At 6:00 PM students will be free to leave or meet you near the front entrance of the church.
