Christ Connect - A Weekly Update from Central Lutheran Church, Elk River, MN
Central Lutheran Church Christ Connect
A Message from Paul

Central Family,

"As you have sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world." (Prayer of Jesus)

One of the gifts of Jesus is that he replicated himself through his followers. 2000 years later this still is the primary mission of leadership in Christ's body. Within Central we are seeking to do all we can to foster a relationship between leadership and congregation that maximizes ministry and minimizes maintenance.

The early church understood this model; "God gave some to be pastors and teachers to prepare God's people for the works of ministry so that the body of Christ may be built up." (Eph 4:11-12)

WHO is called to do the ministry? The people are called to do the ministry. Every Sunday (at least for the last five years) it has appeared on our bulletin. Ministers - People of Central.

WHAT is the mission of your staff leadership? God sets leadership apart for one reason - to equip God's people! We are called to prepare you for ministry. We are called to help you discover your dreams, abilities and gifts and equip you to serve others.

WHAT are we equipped for? Leadership in the Church is to equip God's people for two things; 1) The work of the ministry and, 2) The Building Up of the Body of Christ. What can you do? Take advantage of the many opportunities to be equipped; Alpha, Crossways, Quest for Men, Beth Moore for Women, Discovery Classes, Wednesday School of Discipleship, Small Groups, Men's Groups, Befrienders, etc. Be connected to the body through worship. Our five weekly worship experiences are the one time when the whole body comes together to be built up.

I look forward to your presence at worship!

Paul

It also allows us to provide better programming to meet their needs.
