The BASIC Outreach Board of Directors invites you to a Dessert Buffet on Thursday, September 24, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at Central Lutheran Church, 1103 School Street, Elk River.
As you may be aware, BASIC Outreach strives to offer families with children without a place to sleep a safe, warm room at one of our participating churches. Mary Westlund, from New Pathways in Cambridge (an existing program similar to BASIC), will join us Thursday evening. She will be joined by one of her clients who will share her testimony about how New Pathways impacted her and her family.
While you are enjoying some delicious desserts, you can see one of Central's classrooms set up to represent how a family would be accommodated. We will explain how the overnight stay will work, and have information available outlining the responsibilities of a participating church and the responsibilities of BASIC.
