Faith Lessons will begin on Wednesday, September 22 and be hosted by Pastor Leon Stier.  Lunch will be served at 12:15.  Schedule is as follows:

Inward Pilgrimmage PDF Print E-mail

Inward Pilgrimmage will begin on 10/10/10!  The Inward Pilgrimage will be a monthly journey through some of the spiritual classics from Augustine to Bonhoeffer. We will meet one Sunday evening a month at 7:00 - 8:30 pm from September of 2010 through May of 2011. The monthly gathering will include dessert, devotion and discussion of the assigned book.

  • October 10 - Introduction and receive CONFESSIONS by St. Augustine.  A renowned Church Father from the 4th Century reflects on the transforming grace of God and humankind's unending quest for truth.
  • November 7 - Discuss CONFESSIONS and receive IMITATION OF CHRIST by A'Kempis. In the 15th Century A'Kempis shared these meditations and directions concerning the Christian life.
  • December 5 - Discuss IMITATION OF CHRIST and receive THE FREEDOM OF THE CHRISTIAN by Martin Luther. In the 16th Century Luther proclaimed the believer's liberty in Christ.
  • January 9 - Discuss THE FREEDOM OF THE CHRISTIAN and receive THE PRACTICE OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD by Brother Lawrence. In the 17th Century this humble kitchen worker shared the secret of unbroken fellowship with God.
  • February 13 - Discuss THE PRACTICE OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD and receive FOR SELF-EXAMINATION by Soren Kierkegaard.  In the 19th Century this profound Danish philosopher, captured by Christ, summons his readers to spiritual reality and Christian cross-bearing.
  • March 13 - Discuss FOR SELF-EXAMINATION and receive PRAYER by O. Hallesby.  This 20th Century Scandinavian church leader provides basic instruction for an effective prayer life.
  • April 10 - Discuss PRAYER and receive LIFE TOGETHER by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.  Bonhoeffer share prerequisites and patterns for authentic Christian community.
  • May 15 - Discuss LIFE TOGETHER and share experiences from The Inward Pilgrimage.

The Five Love Languages will begin on Wednesday, October 6 from 7:00 - 8:15 pm and run for seven Wednesdays through November 17. In this course husbands and wives will learn how to express heartfelt commitment to each other.
