Central Lutheran Church

Making Jesus Known

We seek to extend God’s loving hand beyond the congregation of Central, locally and globally. We do this through creating opportunities for learning and prayer, partnership and service, mission trips and special projects, and benevolence giving. All these experiences help us grow in the joy of faith.

Community Service PDF Print E-mail
We invite you to grow in faith and joy by serving God as a family, an individual, a small group or part of a team. A wide variety of service opportunities range from raking a shut-in’s yard, putting together Operation Christmas Child boxes, assisting Faith in Action, to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Feed My Starving Children.

See the world, serve God and grow in faith. Our current mission trips travel to Mexico, Jamaica, Uganda and Shreveport, LA. Mission teams include youth, young adults, families and retirees. If you are unable to travel around the world, consider participating in Mission Mondays, a weekly summer day trip to different Metro mission sites. We also offer occasional opportunities to feed the homeless through the Crossroads Parking Lot Dinner and the Wesley Mission.

Angel Tree Mission PDF Print E-mail
Angel Tree Mission is an opportunity to share Christ's love by helping to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners.  In Matthew 18:5 Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me."  there are children right now in our community who are among the most at risk children in the nation.  Let's demonstrate Jesus' love to the people who are often forgotten, destitute, embarrassed and shunned.  Please consider sponsoring one of the 20 children in our community that Central has committed to supporting this holiday season.  Watch for our ANGEL TREE display staring in November.  More information is available on their website www.angeltree.org.  If you would like to participate with this mission contact Heather Olawsky at 763-274-2567.
