Dear sisters in Christ,
A quick last minute reminder that the deadline to register for this fall’s women’s retreat, October 7-9, is tomorrow by noon. I know for some of you the dollars are an issue. Please consider letting us help you attend. Women have graciously donated scholarship dollars and we would love to see you there. The theme is “The Rest of God” and though it doesn’t sound like a wild crazy escape from home, it will be full of rich rewards including laughter, the fellowship of women your age (we have women registered from 20something to 70something), and time to commune with God and nature. Add to that two massage therapists all day Saturday as well as craft options for those who enjoy that and it promises to be well worth your time. You can respond to this e-mail if you want to get in at this last minute. We’ll catch you up on the paperwork by week’s end.
I love the passage from Ephesians that we will proclaim this Sunday. It’s the second chapter, verses 1-10. You’ll recognize parts of it for sure. I’ve been reading it in several different versions. The English Standard version is my favorite. This text paints a picture of who we once were (dead in sin, following the prince of the air, disobedient) and who we now are (alive together with Christ, raised up with him, seated in the heavenly places) because of Christ. It concludes by reminding us that by God’s grace we are Christ’s workmanship. This Sunday Curt Hinkle will be the visible craftsman as he works with wood while I share the message. It is a tangible way to portray the transforming process of God’s grace as He makes us into all He created us to be. Hope to see you in worship!
This Saturday we begin our EPHESIAN HOME STUDY GROUPS! Listed below are the 21 groups that are available at different times and places throughout the week. Find a place and time and sign up in one of three different ways;
So many terrific opportunities to grow in grace and experience the love of Christ. Do connect to your brothers and sisters in Christ this fall! God’s peace and power as you experience His grace by faith!

Each week people meet together for a meal, a talk on topics such as "Who is Jesus?", "Why Did Jesus Die?", "How Can I be Sure of My Faith?", and "Does God Still Heal Today?" , followed by small group interaction. There is an optional one-day retreat, which focuses on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
