Friday, June 25 – 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 – Laurie Newlin

God loves me so much that He sent His son Jesus into the world to take the punishment for my sins. Jesus died a horrible death so that I can be close to God and be forgiven of my sins. God is holy and perfect and I am broken and sinful. When I accepted Jesus as my savior I was given new life. I struggle with the thought of being made new. I feel like it means I have to be perfect and never sin again, which I can‘t do. I try to read the Bible every day and follow Jesus. But just like a child, I don’t always listen and obey. But it’s not about me, it’s about Him! It’s all about what He can do in my life, not what I can do. He sent the Holy Spirit to live in me and guide me. When I stop focusing on me and start seeking Him, He will change me. He is my father who loves me and because of Jesus I can have peace with Him. I want to share this with others. I want them to know the power that God has in their lives.

Dear Jesus, Thank you that you took our sins upon yourself and that we are forgiven. Thank you that you died to bring us closer to God. Help me to remember that I am a new creation because of you. I pray that you will show me how I can tell others about what you have done. I love you Jesus. Amen.
