Women's Connect - September 27, 2010

Dear sisters in Christ,

Fall is here.  I love pulling out the fall wardrobe and sipping on apple cider! What a great time of year!

Yesterday Pastor Paul reminded us of Laurel Bunker’s words, “God wants to do something extraordinary in this place.”  Are you praying for that to become reality?  We are still looking for people to commit to pray for this body on a daily basis.  Yesterday morning as the Practice of Prayer women met we talked about prayer as our privilege and also our responsibility.  If you have not already done so, would you let me know what time of day you will pray for Central?  It is imperative that we discover God’s design for Central and we can only do this with prayer.

Great stuff is happening for women at Central!  We are drawing close to the deadline for the fall women’s retreat, Women With Fake IDs:  Search for Significance, October 22-24.  The deadline is October 10^th.  Remember that includes your form (extras in the church office) and your $125.00.  It promises to be a beautiful time away and I know God is going to meet each of us in a very personal way.  Can’t wait to share that week-end with you!

Tomorrow is the book club get-together . To quote Priscilla from The Faith Club, "This is so much to absorb.  My head hurts from thinking so hard.  Do you know how much thinking you have to do in order to question?  Then you have to ask the right questions.  Then you have to reach your own conclusion.  And then you have to take action.  It's HUGE."  p. 131

Please join us on Wed., Sept. 29 at 9:30 a.m. at the Elk Rivier Activity Center.  If you can't come then and would like to do it some other time, let me (facilitator LeeAnn Simenson) know.

Also this Saturday Marlene Stimpson and Rosie Glover will be checking out the national women’s organization Women of the Word. Here is an invitation from Marlene, “H i Gals, I am planning to go to the New Beginnings Organizational Meeting of Women of the Word on Saturday Oct 2 in Hutchinson MN.  Registration and coffee begin at 9:30 so I am planning to leave about 8 AM or so.  The session ends at 3 PM so we would be back by 4:30.  Would any of you or do you know of anyone who would like to ride along with me?  Registration is only $15.00.”  Please call Marlene 241-5544, if you are interested.
